Formed as the second generation of “Circle Lychee” in October 2023. The concept of the group is “The Troupe of Aesthetic and Radical Performers”, expressing aestheticism and madness. They are the first group in Circle Lychee whose main activity area is Osaka.
Biography
In October 2023, formation of the group as one of the first three groups of Circle Lychee (numbered the second generation, because of the existence of the main group, Mercuro) was announced. They performed at some live concerts during pre-debut period in October, and then officially debuted on November 2nd in “Sabukaru Vol.Zero*1”.
*1 “Sabukaru” is the short term for “Subculture” in Japanese, sometimes including the nuance of underground culture or decadent atmosphere.
Galatia held their half-anniversary concert titled “Haraiso*2” at FANJ twice (Osaka) in May 2024. The 1st-anniversary concert ”The Opera of Aesthetic and Radical Performers” at Osaka BANANA HALL was held in November. On March 31st 2025, they organized one-man concert titled “Kakumei” (Revolution) at Osaka BANANA HALL and then disbanded.
*2 “Haraiso” … Derived from a Portuguese word “Paraiso” meaning “Paradise”, the term used by Christians in the Early Modern period in Japan.
Konoha Uto, who was a member from the formation til the disbandment, and Miroku Yuni, who was an additional member of the group, remained Circle Lychee and formed two-member idol unit named “UtoYuni”.
Short Review
Galatia is the first local branch of Circle Lychee and its main activity area is Osaka.
At the thought of Tokyo Grand Guignol having the scenario titled “Galatia Teito Monogatari” in their repertory, the name “Galatia” is quite a direct homage among the products of Circle Lychee.
As their concept “The Troupe of Aesthetic and Radical Performers” suggests, they show so avant-garde and gorgeous performance emphasizing vivid and poisonous-looking essences which their elder sister Mercuro has had.
It is regrettable that they were struggled to stabilize their organizational structure resulting in such a short life after about one and a half year’s activity, but we can still listen part of their songs on the stage covered by each groups of Circle Lychee and the successor unit “UtoYuni.”
